When Luke Judson first walked into the Belleville Bulls locker room, he was a 16-year-old rookie on a Memorial Cup contender. By the time he left, he had worn the captain’s “C” for three seasons — a rare honour in junior hockey.

In this week’s Hockey Docs interview, Luke opens up about the lessons, the leaders, and the memories that defined his time in Belleville. From rookie rituals and learning under veterans like Matt Beleskey, to leading through rebuilding years, his story reflects what junior hockey is really about — growth, resilience, and community.

After Belleville, Judson’s career took him through U SPORTS, the ECHL, and even a stint in Australia. But it was coming home that gave him his biggest challenge yet: helping rebuild the Fort Frances Lakers as both head coach and general manager. Today, he’s bringing the professionalism and structure he learned in Belleville to a new generation of players.

This episode is packed with stories fans will love — from locker room culture and billet family memories, to the heartbreak of seeing the Bulls leave town and the pride of carrying their legacy forward.
