Felix Gatt didn’t just collect Red Wings memorabilia. He built something bigger.
He built a tribute. A sanctuary. A shrine.
And every item on those walls came with a story.
Felix was a lifelong Detroit Red Wings fan. But he wasn’t just a fan — he was a close personal friend of Gordie Howe.
They met later in life and formed a genuine bond. It wasn’t about fame. It wasn’t about autographs. It was about respect.
Felix’s basement became a museum of memories.
Jerseys. Photos. Autographs. And a quiet reverence for the man he called a friend.
We filmed this short documentary with Felix in July 2019.
He passed away in September 2021.
It was one of the last interviews he ever gave.
And it remains one of the most heartfelt stories we’ve had the privilege of telling at HockeyDocs.
